About Us

Who are we?

We are Trinity Episcopal Church, Lewiston, a parish of The Episcopal Church and the Diocese of Maine, a worshipping community whose mission is to restore all people to a deeper relationship with God and each other through Christ.

We pursue our mission as we pray and worship, proclaim the Gospel, and promote justice, peace, and love. We are a doorway to compassion, courage, and creativity; empowering members; serving neighbors.

We are a parish composed of many ages but our average age is older than the community we live in. We are and have been a small parish, as seen in our Sunday worship of 15 to 20 people on average. Our parish has been here a long time, worshipping and serving the community since 1854 and is a spiritual and social justice anchor in the Kennedy Park area and beyond.

Being a welcoming community is important to us. We welcome people of all age, race, gender identity, sexuality, and ethnicity. It is also important for us to use our property to welcome our neighbors for non-religious activities. We also welcome artists in the
Lewiston area and beyond to perform in our space.

We thrive on deep theological reflection as part of our relationship with God and each other. Individual reflection and conversation with each other about our theology is an important part of our life together. The arts are important to us and an integral part of our
worship.

We have a long history of impactful outreach ministry and being an incubator for programs which provide important resources for the community and serve the community even to this day. Outreach ministry and serving the community of Lewiston is important to us and core to our mission and we strive to continue that important work.
