Bereavement

To keep a promise we made to respect the dignity of every human being, we want to share the compassion, comfort and hope we feel with all who mourn.

If you don’t have an active church or faith community membership and don’t have the money for a Christian burial or Memorial Service, we want to help.

Our Bereavement Ministry team will plan a Service with you and conduct it in church or at graveside. If you have no cemetery plot for the deceased, we offer interment of cremation ashes at no charge in our Community Memorial Garden located in Trinity’s Churchyard. FMI: Peg Hoffman 786-3233

We don’t have money to offer for funeral expenses, but we have a ministry team to help you cope with the loss of a loved one. One of our ministry partners is Last Things with information on alternative caring for a deceased loved one, home funerals, and low cost coffins.

The memorial garden now has a peace pole in it, placed there after a murder a few years ago in Kennedy Park next door to the church.  It has “peace” written in about 12 languages spoken in the neighborhood.

We are now landscaping the garden in a partnership with Maine Audubon’s program called “Bringing Nature Home.”  It will be planted with only native plants that are bird and pollinator friendly.  We welcome interest and help!
